On a crisp and exhilarating Friday evening, December 15th, in the heart of Dallas, Texas, something extraordinary unfolded. A gathering that was set to ignite passions, foster connections, and celebrate the rich tapestry of our Latinx community. It was the day Our Latinx Magazine's editorial board welcomed kindred spirits to join forces, celebrate diversity, and envision a brighter future together.

The invitation had been extended, and the anticipation was palpable. Board members, contributors, and enthusiasts from all walks of life gathered under the Texas sunset, ready to embark on an unforgettable journey. The mission? To take a closer look at the past, present, and future of Our Latinx Magazine and to let their creativity run wild. The editorial board also introduced a preview of Our Latinx Magazine "Comunidad Talks" - a seasonal IRL experience to embark on a journey of discovery and empowerment with hidden gems within our vibrant communities. The invitation was also extended to our newsletter subscribers, and a short screening showcased what to expect from Our Latinx Magazine in 2024.

The editorial board meeting was not just a routine gathering; it was a celebration of unity and empowerment, a testament to the strength of a community that thrived on diversity. In this warm and welcoming environment, ideas flowed like a river, and inspiration was in abundance.

As attendees trickled into the meeting space, there was an undeniable sense of excitement in the air. People from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives converged with one common goal – to make Our Latinx Magazine shine even brighter. It was a reminder that unity in diversity is not just a concept but a living, breathing reality in our community.

However, can a gathering truly be complete without a dash of caffeinated magic and a delightful serving of Mexican sweet bread known as Pan Dulce Conchas? Starbucks, our Ultimate Collaborator Sponsor, graced us with its presence, infusing our conversations with the warmth of hospitality and the alluring aroma of delectable coffee. With each cup, connections deepened, and ideas blossomed. It felt as though the coffee itself carried the very essence of our community spirit.

At Starbucks, their partner networks serve as catalysts for forging connections based on shared experiences and values. They foster professional growth, raise awareness about important issues, and act as a bridge between Starbucks stores and the communities they serve. During Hispanic Heritage Month, Starbucks paid homage to the rich culture, contributions, and achievements of Hispanic and Latin American communities in partnership with their employee network, Hora Del Café, local communities, and within their stores.

Starbucks has always drawn inspiration from what holds the utmost significance to its partners, committing to lead meaningful partner programming and community initiatives throughout the year. The company also lends its support to Hispanic and Latin American communities through collaborations with Unidos U.S., the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials. Additionally, Starbucks champions El Centro de la Raza, which recently received a grant from The Starbucks Foundation to bolster after-school programs, promote financial literacy, and provide guidance on healthcare navigation for Hispanic and Latin American communities in the Seattle area.

The gathering commenced with a heartfelt welcome from the Editorial Board. Their words resonated with every attendee, as they spoke of the magazine's journey – the stories it had told, the lives it had touched, and the dreams it had kindled. It was a testament to the power of storytelling, a power that brings communities together.

The evening agenda was as diverse as the attendees themselves. It ranged from celebrating the achievements of the past year to envisioning the digital magazine's future path. Ideas flowed freely, like a symphony of creativity. The room buzzed with excitement as voices from different backgrounds shared their thoughts, each one adding a unique thread to the vibrant tapestry of our community.

One of the highlights of the gathering was a series of inspiring success stories from contributors and readers. These stories showcased the magazine's impact on lives, highlighting how it empowered individuals to embrace their culture, share their stories, and become leaders in their own right. It was a reminder that Our Latinx Magazine was not just a publication but a catalyst for change, a "Real Progressive Change."

As the day progressed, attendees engaged in spirited discussions about the magazine's content, design, and outreach. It was a masterclass in collaboration, as diverse perspectives merged to shape a vision for the future. The energy in the room was contagious, and it became evident that this meeting was not just about making decisions but about creating a shared dream.

In the spirit of inclusivity, attendees delved deeper into specific areas of interest. From storytelling discussions to design brainstorming topics, attendees had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the creative process. It was an evening of learning, growth, and inspiration.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, marking the end of an unforgettable evening, there was a sense of accomplishment in the air. The editorial board meeting had achieved its purpose – to unite, to inspire, and to chart a course for the future. Our Latinx Magazine is more than just a publication; it is a reflection of a vibrant community that celebrates its heritage and looks forward to a brighter tomorrow.
